Re:

IT Systems and Services

Dear Sir,

To keep the IT systems running smoothly and with a 24/7 % uptime, I propose that we would need better physical security for our server rooms, as the security we have now lacks protection.

Investing in a building-wide access code system would in the long run prevent the servers from physical damage, and also investing in a good, powerful anti-virus and firewall software to prevent our server from becoming under attack from viruses, worms and hackers.

It would also be worth constructing a separate server to back up our current system, in the event that an un-preventable disaster should occur. It might also be worth buying some flood seals, and smoke proof door seals, incase of water or smoke damage to our servers.

We would also need another IT Technician to carry out repairs and maintenance on the new systems, while I carry on with repairs on the main system.

All of this would require a slight increase in the IT Services department spending allowance.

I hope you take this information into account,

Jake.
